Academic Integrity and Plagiarism
Plagiarism is a serious academic offence. It encompasses copying another student’s work, lending work to others, or presenting extracts from books, handouts, or websites as one’s own. The Student Handbook provides a detailed definition of plagiarism, explains its gravity, and offers strategies to prevent it.
Academic Integrity Expectations
At Frankford International University (FIU), every student is expected to produce original work. If a student is found to have plagiarised, disciplinary action will be taken. Consequences may include a failing grade for the assignment, the course, or even expulsion from the program. The severity of the action is determined jointly by the relevant professor and the Academic Standards Committee. Students have the right to appeal to the Provost in writing within four weeks of the Committee’s decision, and the Provost’s decision is final.
Non-Discrimination Policy
FIU upholds a non-discrimination policy, ensuring that no one is treated unfairly based on race, colour, national origin, gender, sexual orientation, age, religion, physical disability, or veteran status. Both students and academic faculty/staff are expected to adhere to this policy during classroom activities and on-campus events. Violations will result in disciplinary measures.
Sexual Harassment Policy
Frankford International University maintains a harassment-free environment. Any form of sexual harassment is strictly prohibited.
